Description
Rag and Flag is an important annual charity project held by the National University of Singapore Students’ Union (NUSSU) as part of the NUSSU freshmen orientation programme. The event consists of two parts: students from National University of Singapore (NUS) asking the public for donations on Flag Day and a performance with thematic floats from participating faculties on Rag Day. Rag Day, historically known as “Receiving And Giving” Day, aims to show appreciation to the NUS community and the general public for their generous donations and support during Flag Day. On top of that, YLLSoM uses Rag as a platform for freshmen and seniors alike in the Medicine Faculty to work together and forge close friendships over the preparation for the performance. We estimate about 200 medical and nursing students to be involved in YLLSoM’s Rag performance and preparation, which would take place in the months from June to August.
